Marklee Collection

“We see the connection between the body, the furniture, and the architecture as a kind of conversation.”

– Sharon Johnston

Biboni Takes Shape

The collection expands with new forms for living and lounging.

The Biboni Collection expands its sculptural language to include a Lounge Chair, Ottoman, Corner Sectional, and Open End Sofa. Designed by Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee of architecture firm Johnston Marklee, the collection relates to the human body by shaping space into volumes, voids, and curves.

The anthropomorphic Biboni Collection welcomes the human form. “There’s an elegance in how the sofa relates to the body,” says Sharon Johnston, who points out how the puffy folds are precisely placed to envelop and embrace the sitter. Most of the sofa configurations are now offered in a choice of two seat depths: Standard is more upright, while Deep is more relaxed – both generous and engaging.

Designed through an architectural lens, Biboni is intimate in scale yet expansive in the way it shapes its surroundings. Its sculptural presence is unmistakable, yet it remains in dialogue with the elements around it. “It wants to be a good friend,” says Johnston. “We like that it can be giving in that way.”
